One of my favorite writing sites of all time is Draft.in because it's so minimal and you can co-edit on it. I don't get distracted by formatting or any buttons and can just write. Plus, you can organize things in different folders and stuff. It's more like a stripped down version of google docs to be honest.

Oooh :) I use Word, Scrivener, Google docs, depending on what I'm doing, but I often find myself using internettypewriter for the reasons you mention, when I'm doing a first draft. This looks similar, I'll have to check it out :)

Scrivener does take time to learn and it's not that useful for short things.
I have found it invaluable however for trying to keep all my snippets together for novel length works, especially since I tend not to write in a linear fashion and it allows you to drag and drop, make folders for chapters etc!
It's always great to find something that fits how you work best :)
