Wolf and Seres ran across the field, laughing. The old man chased them, yelling something that they couldn’t hear. Wolf grinned at Seres and they picked up the pace until they were deep in the stone forest.
“That was fun,” Seres panted. “What are we going to find in Mr. Riley’s spellbook?”
Wolf drew himself up, until he was slightly taller than Seres. “Mr. Riley has a spell to turn Jeanette into a dog. I would like to get a look at it.” Seres laughed at the exasperated tone in his voice.
